The Sterling Heritage

The story of Sterling is irrevocably entwined with that of its founder, the late Mr. O. P. Ghai. From humble beginnings as a teacher, he stepped into the arena of publishing in the mid-forties be establishing University Publishers in Jalandhar, and then Sterling Publishers in the mid Sixties. Apart from being the first recipient of the Prakasha Ratna award, he wrote several books of great relevance in today's fast-paced world. Mr O.P. Ghai was the President of the Federation of Publishers and Booksellers Association in India, President of the Federation of Indian Publishers, and an Executive Committee member of the International Publishers Association. During his lifetime, he was aided by his son, Mr. S.K. Ghai, in all his diverse plans.
